Q: We'd love to know your story!
Honestly Little Ella Rae was a bit of a fluke! My sister in law and I were bored one night and she suggested creating a swaddle blanket company. We sat down, combined our names to make a company name, and ordered some fabric! She was in the middle of planning a wedding so I bought her out, and switched to making hair bows. I would have never guessed I would have the opportunity to run a business and work from home. I am really proud of how much it has grown in the last 4 years, and for the opportunities I am blessed with to serve, and give to NICU's across the country, and in other ways in my community!
Q: What advice would you give someone wanting to pursue a career similar to yours?
My advice to someone wanting to start a business would be to make sure it is something you are passionate about and willing to give lots of time to. If you want to make a profit and be successful, you will have to put in the time, hours, and sweat equity to make it! I would also suggest finding a mentor or a business coach to help you think outside the box and set yourself apart from competitors!
Q: What are the best resources that have helped you along the way?
I also own a consulting company where I consult small business owners and help them get their businesses running. I knew this would be beneficial to me as well, so I got myself a business coach too to help me see where I could be improving my business practices. Podcasts, marketing blogs, college classes, and lots of other sources have been extremely helpful to me.
